About
Cherie vibes and thrives on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
Cherie grew up in the western suburbs of Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) where they attended public primary and high school. They are non-binary, queer, a YT settler “Australian” of Anglo-Saxon decent, in their 40s.
Cherie has a background in mental health, art and design, education, and support work. English is their first language and although they grew up working class, they are now middle class and reap the benefits of systemic YT supremacy in so-called “Australia”.
